2. Travel Guide to Van Thanh Mieu Temple
In front is the Tam Quan Gate and two auxiliary gates built in the ancient style, with 3 roofs. On the top of the roof, there is a blue ceramic decoration of two dragons adoring the sun, and the roof is tiled with big tiles. The two sides of the column have parallel Chinese characters embossed with cement, meaning to promote Khong Tu and Confucianism
From the gate, going straight to Dai Thanh Palace is called “shino”. On the two sides of Shintoism are two rows of soaring stars like two floors of sentinels..
The campus of Van Thanh Temple is very large and has many shady trees. There are two lakes formerly planted with lotus, on the left is Nguyet Anh Lake and on the right is Nhat Tinh Lake.
Located at the end of “the Way” is the Temple of Literature, the main part is Dai Thanh Palace worshiping Confucius, in front are Ta Vu and Huu Vu worshiping the Seven Decades. This architectural complex was built surrounded by a concrete fence, with a very respectful and dignified entrance.
The interior of Dai Thanh Palace is decorated with altars: the middle is the altar of Confucius, the two sides are the altar of the twelve sages. Before is the altar of Teacher Chu Van An, the left side and the owner are worshiping the Twelve Sages, which are his 12 good games.
3. What to Do –See – Eat at Van Thanh Mieu Temple
It is because the temple lies nearby the town, you will see the street paved with concrete so it is quite easy to reach the place without difficulty. Strolling along to Van Thanh Mieu, you and other tourists get to feel the fresh airflow of the wind blowing from Long Ho River.
The gate to Van Thanh temple has two roofs painted in golden shade. This color was often used by the royal family in the past. Besides, the gate has an arch while the main entrance is bigger than the other two ports. Look at the portal where you can see the Chinese line “Van Thanh Temple”.
Particularly, when visitors visit Van Thanh Mieu Temple, they will see three steles. The first stele is engraved with the content written by Mr. Phan Thanh Gian before his death, the stele was established by Mr. Truong Ngoc Lang in 1872. The front side writes the reason for building the temple, praises the merits of the saint and the court, and the back side lists the benefactor. The second stele was erected in 1917. The front side records the event that Mr. Tong Huu Dinh campaigned for the restoration of the Temple of Literature in 1903. The backside records the meritorious and meritorious people. The third stele was erected in 1931, recording the words of Mrs. Truong Thi Loan donating land and entrusting the worship of her biological father and father-in-law at Van Xuong Cac.
Cannons are two of the old guns that were placed along the banks of the Co Chien River to keep the Vinh Long citadel. In 1937, these two guns were brought here. The initial position of the barrel is facing the Long Ho River. In 1960, when the gun pedestal was rebuilt, the barrel turned to the Southeast as it is today.
The Van Xuong Cac is a unique cultural work built in the same way as the snail to create the unique appearance of the Temple of Literature in Vinh Long. Van Xuong Cac is also known as Tho Lau, Tan Dinh, and Tuy Van Lau, consisting of two floors: the upper floor worships 03 Van Xuong De Quan (the god who looks after literature) where books are stored; The lower floor is a resting place when coming to Confucius’ sacrifice ceremony and is a place to comment and discuss martial arts of great officials at that time. In front is the altar of Gia Dinh executioner Sung Duc Tien Vo Truong Toan and Kham sai Kinh strategist Phan Thanh Gian

5. Google Maps of Van Thanh Mieu Temple
Google Maps made a name for itself helping people travel from one place to another, avoid traffic (You probably know the route from your hotel to the gas station by heart, but what you can’t be sure about is gridlock), measure a distance, get back to the hotel on time, share the location…
6. Visit Van Thanh Mieu Temple by yourself
Solo traveller? Travelling on your own means you will get out of any difficult situations by yourself. This, in turn, leads to more satisfying travel experiences and helps you improve your problem-solving skills. These days we rarely get the chance to sit with ourselves and simply be. That’s why you should consider the time you spend alone on your trip as a gift.
It is possible for solo travellers to use google maps and do it alone. It takes more time to find the correct garden to come. Adventure is always fun. Wifi is strong in Vinh long village! The locals find it hard to speak English as well.
