When people ask me what to see in Mekong today. I tell them view our MekongDelta365.
Nowadays, there are more and more green and responsible tours which are meaningful and educational as well. This is why Can Tho noodle factory is getting popular for both Vietnamese and foreigners to come and explore the cuisine culture and the typical local life in Can Tho, Mekong Delta.
This two-day tour is the perfect way to immerse yourself in both the natural and cultural richness of the Mekong Delta without feeling rushed. Every part of the itinerary felt intentional and meaningful, and our guide, Minh, was an absolute gem—insightful, warm, and great at adapting the pace to our energy and interests.
Day One was a peaceful introduction to the Delta’s lesser-known treasures. The wetland conservation area was absolutely breathtaking—quiet canals winding through lush greenery, with bird calls echoing as we drifted along in the boat. The light trekking to spot birds and visit the observation tower gave us stunning panoramic views of the forest and rice fields. We also visited a giant ficus microcarpa tree, which Minh brought to life with his engaging stories about wartime history. It was educational without ever feeling heavy, and we ended the day with a deep appreciation for the hidden sides of Can Tho.
Day Two started bright and early, and it was worth every minute. Watching the sunrise over the Cai Rang floating market from a quiet sampan was pure magic. Minh explained the economic and cultural role of the market and the challenges it faces today. We had the best noodle soup breakfast of our trip right there on the river.
The tour continued to a local rice noodle workshop, where we were welcomed like family and tasted a unique rice noodle pizza (surprisingly good!). From there, it was on to a fruit garden, a relaxing cruise through peaceful small canals, and then a fun bike ride through shaded paths and village backroads. Every moment felt like a window into authentic local life.
We ended the experience with a visit to the organic cacao farm, where we learned how chocolate, wine, and even skincare products are made from cacao. The cold cacao milk was the perfect finale.
With a delicious lunch included, smooth logistics, and no touristy gimmicks, this two-day tour hit every note. If you’re looking for an experience that’s informative, scenic, and authentic from start to finish—this is it.
I usually plan my travels around food and cities, but this 2-day Can Tho tour completely shifted my perspective. It gave me a connection to nature, history, and people that no guidebook ever could. Hannah was my guide, and she made the entire experience feel natural, well-paced, and deeply memorable.
Day 1 took us to a wetland conservation area I hadn’t even heard of. The boat ride through the forest felt like floating into another world — emerald canals, birds flying overhead, complete stillness. Hannah shared stories about the local environment and explained how the area has been protected and why it matters. We climbed the observation tower and got a full view of the region — breathtaking. I chose to do the walk rather than return by boat, and I’m glad I did. We spotted several native birds and felt completely immersed in the quiet forest.
We ended with a visit to a giant ficus tree used by the Viet Cong during the war. Hannah told us about the guerrilla tactics and how the tree served as natural cover. History came alive in a very real and respectful way.
Day 2 started before sunrise. We cruised into the Cai Rang floating market — boats everywhere, and the smell of fresh food in the air. Breakfast on the boat was a highlight. I’m vegetarian, and Hannah made sure everything was perfect. We then visited a family-owned rice noodle workshop — rustic, real, and absolutely fascinating. I loved the hands-on feel of this part of the tour.
Next, we visited a beautiful fruit garden, had a peaceful sampan ride through tiny, quiet canals, and took a relaxed bike ride through the countryside. The cacao farm was a perfect final stop — we learned about chocolate making, tried cacao milk, and chatted with the farmer who’s been running the place since the 1960s.
If you want to understand the Mekong, not just see it, this is your tour. Hannah made it feel like more than a day trip — it felt like a connection.
