When people ask me what to see in Mekong today. I tell them view our MekongDelta365.
Nowadays, there are more and more green and responsible tours which are meaningful and educational as well. This is why Can Tho noodle factory is getting popular for both Vietnamese and foreigners to come and explore the cuisine culture and the typical local life in Can Tho, Mekong Delta.
From the very first moment, our guide Hieu made us feel like we were discovering a secret world only locals know about. The sunrise over Cai Rang floating market was breathtaking, and Hieu’s stories about the market’s history, its gradual disappearance, and the river life made the experience deeply meaningful. The freshest pineapple and the vegetarian breakfast he arranged were thoughtful touches that showed his care. The sampan ride through the peaceful canals was like stepping into a painting. I felt connected to nature and the simple, beautiful rhythms of life on the Mekong. This wasn’t just a tour — it was a heartfelt journey I will never forget.
If you only have one day to explore the Mekong Delta, this is the tour to take. It’s an incredibly well-rounded journey that combines floating markets, canals, food, biking, nature, and history into one full, memorable experience. Our guide, Hieu, was exceptional—his storytelling, humor, and depth of knowledge made every moment count.
The day began early with a peaceful ride to the Cai Rang floating market, where we sipped hot coffee, had a delicious bowl of noodle soup on the river, and tasted fresh pineapple from a local vendor’s boat. Hieu explained the culture and challenges of the market with honesty and passion.
Next came the rice noodle “factory”, which was actually a cozy, family-run operation where we saw colorful noodles being made from scratch—and we even got to try their tasty rice noodle pizza. We then strolled through a fruit garden, sampling tropical fruits while learning about native plants and farming traditions.
The small canal cruise was my favorite part—completely off the tourist trail, quiet and authentic. Locals waved as we passed, children played in the water, and we even spotted a woman quietly rowing guests across the water on a tiny wooden boat—straight out of a painting.
We chose to do the optional bike ride, and it was such a joy! Riding along peaceful canal paths, we felt completely immersed in local life. The stop at the cacao farm afterward was a great break—cacao milk never tasted so good, and the behind-the-scenes look at how chocolate and cosmetics are made was genuinely fascinating.
After a hearty lunch, we headed to the wetland forest conservation. The mix of boat and walking through the pristine forest gave us close-up views of birds and unspoiled nature. From the observation tower, the views were breathtaking.
Finally, we visited the towering ficus microcarpa tree, where Hieu shared incredible stories of wartime history that really gave depth to the place and tied the entire experience together.
This tour is immersive, enriching, and absolutely worth every minute. You don’t just see the Mekong—you feel it.
