Sadec flower villageVisit Sadec flower village where tourists seem to be lost in a fairyland, full of colours and aromas of diverse flowers and plants, namely dahlia, hydrangeas, orchids, areca, wrightia religiosa, hibiskus rosa-sinensis and African marigold. The village also boasts several varieties of roses in different colours of red, violet, pink, white and orange.

Xeo Quyt forest and hand-rowing sampanThe next stop is the magnificent 52-hectare Xeo Quyt forest. One vast swamp beneath a beautiful thick canopy of tall trees and vines, it hides the remains of Viet Cong bunkers, which can be seen by rowing sampan inside the forest.

This tour was an unexpected gem. I had never heard of Xeo Quyt before coming to Vietnam, but I’m so glad I got to see it. Thomas was a fantastic guide—smart, funny, and very respectful of the quiet, sacred places we visited.
The flower village was vibrant and unique. I’ve seen flower markets before, but this was like an open-air garden city.
Xeo Quyt was something else entirely. Floating quietly through the flooded forest, seeing the hidden bunkers and listening to the forest sounds… I felt like I was stepping into a different world.
Our visit to the ancient house and pagoda in Sadec was peaceful and culturally rich. The house especially brought Duras’ story to life in a new way.
Highly recommend this tour if you’re looking to explore beyond the usual Mekong spots.
We were lucky to join this tour during our stay in Can Tho and it was magical from start to finish. Hannah picked us up right on time and shared many lovely stories about the region during our drive. The Sadec flower village was simply charming—so many colors and fragrances, it felt like walking through a Vietnamese Monet painting.
But the real highlight for me was Xeo Quyt forest. Drifting silently through the forest by hand-rowed sampan, passing hidden bunkers and giant trees, was both peaceful and thought-provoking. It was hard to believe such a beautiful place once held so much war history.
The visit to the Huynh Thuy Le house, where Marguerite Duras’ love story took place, was touching and romantic. Lunch was delicious, full of local flavors, and served in a peaceful garden setting.
This was a perfect mix of nature, history, and local culture. Merci beaucoup, Hannah!
