Paddy rice fileds Mekong Delta, Chau Doc countryisde roThe scooter will leave Chau Doc city for Tra Su forest through the countryside road, not the main car road. This absolute experience is only for the motorbike tour. On the way, you will see hundreds of hectares of rice fields and the tour guide will stop at one of the best rice fields to visit to learn all about Mekong Delta rice fields (rice fields is seasonals in the dry season). Beside rice fields, this way is all about the countryside, you may see lotus farms and water buffalos during the wet season. Of course, on this trip, you sometimes will see green or yellow rice fields or farmers are harvesting on the farm or the countryside views of Mekong rural lives near the border of Vietnam in Chau Doc village.

Tra Su forest tour and activitiesArrive at Tra Su forest (planted from the 80s). The tour guide then helps you with boat tickets and get on board. After sitting on a motor boat for around 20 minutes to contemplate the natural sights, you will take to the rowing sampan (about half hour) to watch birds and enjoy the most beautiful flooded forest in Vietnam as well as SE-Asia. Afterwards, get back to the motorboat and reach inner the forest. Take 500-meter walking to get to the 25-meter observation post to enjoy the fascinating view over the mountain in the area, the expanses of cajeput forest. Take an amazing bamboo walking bridge in the forest in Vietnam which gives you much time to feel the beauty of nature.

Hang pagoda – Phuoc Dien pagoda Chau DocVisit the Hang pagoda – Phuoc Dien pagoda Chau Doc. The tour guide will escort and help you to explore the pagoda. Hang means cave. You can not find the caves (without the tour guide's escort) and more magical hidden caves like a tunnel in this pagoda. It is so cool to get to the end of the cave at the big rocks and enjoy the beauty of this stunning pagoda since 1840. (The tour guide will set a meeting point for you, if you do not want to conquer the caves).

Sunset Sam mountain - the best checkin spot in Chau DocAfter the Hang pagoda, the scooter tour keeps riding up to the Sam mountain. As a local tour guide expert, we will take you to the best checkpoint on the mountain at the magic double rock (see the guest photos please) for the sometimes sunet (afternoon tour) and enjoy the rice fields (seasonal) from the mountain.

Nowadays, there are more and more green and responsible tours which are meaningful and educational as well. This is why Can Tho noodle factory is getting popular for both Vietnamese and foreigners to come and explore the cuisine culture and the typical local life in Can Tho, Mekong Delta.
This scooter tour gives you everything: beautiful scenery, authentic culture, hidden gems, and a lot of fresh air. Lam was an incredible guide—very experienced and full of insights. We cruised along quiet countryside roads, far from the tourist crowds. The ride itself was smooth and relaxing, with picturesque rice fields on both sides and local life happening all around us.
Tra Su Forest was beyond what I imagined—peaceful waterways, birdwatching from a traditional sampan, and a bamboo bridge that let you literally walk through the forest canopy. Lam shared stories about the forest’s history and wildlife that really added depth to the experience.
Hang Pagoda was another highlight—totally unique with its hidden caves and spiritual energy. The walk inside the cave was surprisingly adventurous! We ended the tour at Sam Mountain, where Lam brought us to a secret rock viewpoint that gave us the best view of the sunset I’ve seen in Vietnam. This tour was the perfect mix of nature, adventure, and culture. Don’t miss it if you’re in Chau Doc!
This scooter tour is hands-down the best way to experience the real countryside of Chau Doc! Duy was an amazing guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and made me feel safe and welcome the entire time. We rode through stunning rice fields that seemed to stretch forever. Depending on the season, you’ll either see vibrant green paddies or golden harvest scenes. We even saw water buffalos wandering near lotus ponds—an unforgettable sight.
The visit to Tra Su Forest was peaceful and magical. The sampan ride through flooded cajeput trees felt like drifting through a hidden world. After that, Duy led us to Hang Pagoda, and I would’ve missed all the secret tunnels and spiritual spots if I didn’t have him as a guide. The caves inside the pagoda are wild—unexpected and really cool.
The final stop at Sam Mountain for sunset was the cherry on top. Duy took us to a quiet spot where we watched the sun set over the rice fields—it was stunning. I’d do this tour again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended if you want something local, offbeat, and truly beautiful.
