Phu Ly Khmer pagodaThe boat will cruise on the Mekong River and then keep going deep into the countryside and canals for reaching the Phu Ly pagoda. Walking around the pagoda, you will feel the peace, airy but no less ancient thanks to the appearance of ancient trees and palm trees. Khmer Phu Ly Pagoda (built in 1672) is an ancient temple in Vinh Long with beautiful & peaceful landscape. This building is the interference between Indian, Thai and Cambodian architecture, creating a unique feature that few temples have.

The hidden traditional village of making tofu skinThe boat takes you to the hidden traditional village of making tofu skin. This traditional job (1912) was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in August 2022. You have a chance to see the locals and learn how the tofu skin - food product is made from soybeans. During the boiling of soy milk, in an open shallow pan, a film or skin composed primarily of a soy protein-lipid complex forms on the liquid surface. The films are collected and dried into yellowish sheets known as tofu skin.

When people ask me what to see in Mekong today. I tell them view our MekongDelta365.

Nowadays, there are more and more green and responsible tours which are meaningful and educational as well. This is why Can Tho noodle factory is getting popular for both Vietnamese and foreigners to come and explore the cuisine culture and the typical local life in Can Tho, Mekong Delta.
The tranquility of the Phu Ly Khmer pagoda stayed with me long after the tour ended. Duy’s gentle storytelling brought the ancient temple’s history to life without overwhelming us—he helped me truly feel the blend of cultures in its architecture. The peaceful setting with towering palms and ancient trees made it a perfect place for reflection.
Visiting the hidden tofu skin village was a fascinating glimpse into a craft I never knew existed. Seeing the delicate process and the locals’ dedication was humbling. The plant nursery village was like a quiet oasis, filled with life and promise. Duy made the experience feel personal and sincere, and I left with a deep appreciation for the everyday beauty of the Mekong countryside.
From start to finish, this Mekong River cruise was an absolute delight. Our guide, Hieu, was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive, making the experience seamless and deeply enriching. The visit to the ancient Phu Ly Khmer Pagoda was mesmerizing — the blend of Indian, Thai, and Cambodian architecture stood out beautifully against the tranquil surroundings. The highlight for me was the hidden village where they make tofu skin. Watching the traditional process unfold, knowing it’s a national cultural heritage, gave me a new appreciation for this delicate craft. Finally, the peaceful plant nursery village was a refreshing glimpse into local life and their dedication to sustainable practices. Ending the tour in Can Tho City felt just right. Highly recommend this for anyone wanting a peaceful, authentic taste of Mekong culture.
