Phu Ly Khmer pagodaThe boat will cruise on the Mekong River and then keep going deep into the countryside and canals for reaching the Phu Ly pagoda. Walking around the pagoda, you will feel the peace, airy but no less ancient thanks to the appearance of ancient trees and palm trees. Khmer Phu Ly Pagoda (built in 1672) is an ancient temple in Vinh Long with beautiful & peaceful landscape. This building is the interference between Indian, Thai and Cambodian architecture, creating a unique feature that few temples have.

This traditional job (1912) was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in August 2022. When people ask me what to see in Mekong today. I tell them view our MekongDelta365.

Nowadays, there are more and more green and responsible tours which are meaningful and educational as well. This is why Can Tho noodle factory is getting popular for both Vietnamese and foreigners to come and explore the cuisine culture and the typical local life in Can Tho, Mekong Delta.
This boat tour was a highlight of our trip! Our guide, Duy, picked us up right on time and was fantastic the entire day—friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. The cruise through the quiet canals was a refreshing break from the city, and visiting Phu Ly Pagoda was both peaceful and visually stunning.
What stood out most was the visit to the tofu skin village. It was fascinating to see this traditional process still alive and recognized as a cultural heritage. Watching the tofu skin form and dry in the sun was unlike anything I’ve seen before.
The final stop at the plant nursery village was equally charming, and gave us insight into how local markets are supplied with vegetables and herbs. It was a perfect mix of culture, history, and authentic local life.
We had an amazing cultural boat tour with our guide, Thuy, who was kind, informative, and passionate about sharing her knowledge. The journey through the canals was peaceful and scenic, and the visit to Phu Ly Khmer pagoda was one of the highlights—such a serene and spiritually rich place with stunning architecture blending Cambodian, Indian, and Thai influences.
The stop at the tofu skin village was something totally unique! Watching locals carry on a traditional craft dating back to 1912 was fascinating. Thuy explained everything clearly, and we even got to taste some fresh tofu products.
We ended the tour at a nursery village, where we saw how locals grow and sell plants and herbs used in Vietnamese kitchens. It gave us a beautiful picture of local life in the Mekong. If you’re looking for something cultural, peaceful, and off the tourist path—this is it!
