Pick-up11:00 AM, the driver & tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in My Tho City and transfer to My Tho boat station for embarking the boat.

Cruising on the mighty Mekong RiverBoarding the motorboat at a pier and cruising on the mighty Mekong River. Here, overlooking floating houses where fishes are farmed beneath the house around 4 islands of the Dragon island, Thoi Son island (Unicorn island), Phoenix island, Turtle islet (viewing from the motorboat).

Coco candy producing processContinuing the journey on the river until reaching the local hidden Tan Thach village (which is less touristy than Thoi Son island tourism a lot), you will get to know many things about coconut uses (coconut candy, wine, oil, mat, coco shell), the tour guide will explain about coco candy producing process at the local coconut workshop as well – very kid-friendly. Enjoying free samples of local specialties and discovering daily activities of local people.

Horse cartTake a short walk to explore the village. Enjoy more Mekong countryside with the horse cart as a Landlord in the old days. Arrive another village - a performance site where Vietnamese traditional music (Đàn Ca Tài Tử - A folk art form from Southern Vietnam accredited by UNESCO in 2013 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity) can be heard and seasonal tropical fruits and honey tea can be tasted (included).

Hand rowing sampan (smalboat) in a small canalAfterward, being on a hand-rowing sampan (smalboat) in a small canal and slowly cruising through a small creek with beautiful overhanging coconut trees. Lives from both sides of the creek can be observed.

End the tourDisembark at My Tho boat station where the car driver waits for you there and picks you up and transfers straight to your hotel in My Tho city. End the tour around 2:00 PM.

Ce tour était court, mais très bien organisé. David nous a raconté plein d’histoires sur la région, les habitants, et les traditions. Le passage dans l’atelier de bonbons à la noix de coco était super intéressant, surtout pour les enfants. On a goûté plusieurs spécialités locales, toutes délicieuses. Le moment préféré pour moi, c’était la promenade en petite barque — un calme absolu, au milieu de la nature. Merci pour ce moment unique et apaisant.
This was exactly what I needed on a short visit to the Mekong — not rushed, but full of lovely details. Duy was kind and calm, with great English and local knowledge. I really enjoyed the coconut candy workshop and was surprised how much goes into each step! The horse cart was a fun throwback, and the local performance gave a sense of tradition without being overly touristy. The sampan ride felt almost meditative. I left with a smile and a calm heart.
