Pick-up11:00 AM, the driver & tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in My Tho City and transfer to My Tho boat station for embarking the boat.

Cruising on the mighty Mekong RiverBoarding the motorboat at a pier and cruising on the mighty Mekong River. Here, overlooking floating houses where fishes are farmed beneath the house around 4 islands of the Dragon island, Thoi Son island (Unicorn island), Phoenix island, Turtle islet (viewing from the motorboat).

Coco candy producing processContinuing the journey on the river until reaching the local hidden Tan Thach village (which is less touristy than Thoi Son island tourism a lot), you will get to know many things about coconut uses (coconut candy, wine, oil, mat, coco shell), the tour guide will explain about coco candy producing process at the local coconut workshop as well – very kid-friendly. Enjoying free samples of local specialties and discovering daily activities of local people.

Horse cartTake a short walk to explore the village. Enjoy more Mekong countryside with the horse cart as a Landlord in the old days. Arrive another village - a performance site where Vietnamese traditional music (Đàn Ca Tài Tử - A folk art form from Southern Vietnam accredited by UNESCO in 2013 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity) can be heard and seasonal tropical fruits and honey tea can be tasted (included).

Hand rowing sampan (smalboat) in a small canalAfterward, being on a hand-rowing sampan (smalboat) in a small canal and slowly cruising through a small creek with beautiful overhanging coconut trees. Lives from both sides of the creek can be observed.

End the tourDisembark at My Tho boat station where the car driver waits for you there and picks you up and transfers straight to your hotel in My Tho city. End the tour around 2:00 PM.

Even though I’ve been to Vietnam many times (my family’s from here), this was one of the loveliest short trips I’ve taken. Hannah was super warm and knowledgeable, and it felt like we were visiting neighbors, not ticking off tourist boxes. The traditional music and fruit tasting felt very natural and not staged. And the sampan ride — wow. Just you, the water, and those tall coconut trees. A peaceful and intimate escape from city noise. I’ll definitely bring friends next time.
J’ai fait cette excursion avec mon mari et notre fils de 8 ans, et c’était parfait pour une petite aventure en famille. Minh était très gentil et patient avec les enfants. Il a tout expliqué de manière simple et captivante. Nous avons adoré goûter aux bonbons à la noix de coco, le petit tour en charrette tirée par un cheval et surtout la balade en petite barque entre les cocotiers. C’était paisible, sans foule, et tellement différent du tourisme de masse. Merci Minh pour cette belle expérience authentique.
