Pick-up11:00 AM, the driver & tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in My Tho City and transfer to My Tho boat station for embarking the boat.

Cruising on the mighty Mekong RiverBoarding the motorboat at a pier and cruising on the mighty Mekong River. Here, overlooking floating houses where fishes are farmed beneath the house around 4 islands of the Dragon island, Thoi Son island (Unicorn island), Phoenix island, Turtle islet (viewing from the motorboat).

Coco candy producing processContinuing the journey on the river until reaching the local hidden Tan Thach village (which is less touristy than Thoi Son island tourism a lot), you will get to know many things about coconut uses (coconut candy, wine, oil, mat, coco shell), the tour guide will explain about coco candy producing process at the local coconut workshop as well – very kid-friendly. Enjoying free samples of local specialties and discovering daily activities of local people.

Horse cartTake a short walk to explore the village. Enjoy more Mekong countryside with the horse cart as a Landlord in the old days. Arrive another village - a performance site where Vietnamese traditional music (Đàn Ca Tài Tử - A folk art form from Southern Vietnam accredited by UNESCO in 2013 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity) can be heard and seasonal tropical fruits and honey tea can be tasted (included).

Hand rowing sampan (smalboat) in a small canalAfterward, being on a hand-rowing sampan (smalboat) in a small canal and slowly cruising through a small creek with beautiful overhanging coconut trees. Lives from both sides of the creek can be observed.

End the tourDisembark at My Tho boat station where the car driver waits for you there and picks you up and transfers straight to your hotel in My Tho city. End the tour around 2:00 PM.

C’était un joli moment d’évasion, à quelques pas de My Tho. Hannah était une guide formidable, pleine de douceur et très cultivée. Nous avons vu les maisons flottantes depuis le bateau, puis visité un atelier de bonbons à la noix de coco — délicieux et instructif ! La promenade en charrette tirée par un cheval dans le village était charmante, presque hors du temps. Et le clou du spectacle : glisser en silence sur un petit canal dans une barque traditionnelle, entouré de cocotiers… magnifique. Je recommande !
Even though this was a half-day tour, we packed in so much! Minh was a great guide — warm, funny, and knew everything about the Mekong Delta. Cruising past the floating fish farms and the four islands felt surreal. The coconut candy part was especially fun for our kids; they even got to try making some. I really enjoyed the traditional music performance and trying fresh fruits. The peaceful sampan ride through the canal with coconut trees arching overhead was simply stunning. Perfect way to spend a few hours in My Tho!
