Itinerary
  • Pick-up
    11:00 AM, the driver & tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in My Tho City and transfer to My Tho boat station for embarking the boat.
  • Cruising on the mighty Mekong River
    Boarding the motorboat at a pier and cruising on the mighty Mekong River. Here, overlooking floating houses where fishes are farmed beneath the house around 4 islands of the Dragon island, Thoi Son island (Unicorn island), Phoenix island, Turtle islet (viewing from the motorboat).

  • Coco candy producing process
    Continuing the journey on the river until reaching the local hidden Tan Thach village (which is less touristy than Thoi Son island tourism a lot), you will get to know many things about coconut uses (coconut candy, wine, oil, mat, coco shell), the tour guide will explain about coco candy producing process at the local coconut workshop as well – very kid-friendly. Enjoying free samples of local specialties and discovering daily activities of local people.
  • Horse cart
    Take a short walk to explore the village. Enjoy more Mekong countryside with the horse cart as a Landlord in the old days. Arrive another village - a performance site where Vietnamese traditional music (Đàn Ca Tài Tử - A folk art form from Southern Vietnam accredited by UNESCO in 2013 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity) can be heard and seasonal tropical fruits and honey tea can be tasted (included).
  • Hand rowing sampan (smalboat) in a small canal
    Afterward, being on a hand-rowing sampan (smalboat) in a small canal and slowly cruising through a small creek with beautiful overhanging coconut trees. Lives from both sides of the creek can be observed.
  • End the tour
    Disembark at My Tho boat station where the car driver waits for you there and picks you up and transfers straight to your hotel in My Tho city. End the tour around 2:00 PM.

    A Gentle Escape into the Delta

    David is one of the best guides I’ve ever met — incredibly knowledgeable and a great storyteller. What I loved most about this tour was how relaxed it was. No rushing, no big groups — just quiet beauty. The coconut workshop was fascinating, and the sampan ride through the small canal was the highlight of my trip to Vietnam. I didn’t expect to feel so connected to this region, but I did. It gave me a glimpse into a life very different from my own, and it stayed with me.

    Mekong Magic in Just a Few Hours

    I still can’t believe how much we experienced in just a few hours. Danh is such a wonderful guide — professional, easygoing, and passionate about his culture. The boat ride gave us a great view of life on the Mekong, but it was the village visit that stole my heart. The coconut candy demo was adorable, and the locals made us feel truly welcome. Riding a horse cart through the countryside felt like time travel, and the musical performance was emotional — I had tears in my eyes. The sampan ride was the perfect ending — so quiet, so peaceful. A five-star experience
