Pick-up08:00 AM, the car driver (no tour guide) will pick you up from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to My Tho boat station (about 11:00 AM) where your tour guide will greet and welcome you for embarking the boat.

Vinh Trang pagodaThe reststop on the way at the pagoda, the car driver will stop at Vinh Trang pagoda in My Tho which was built in 1849. It is the greatest pagoda of Tien Giang Province and was recognized as a national historical and cultural relic in 1984.

Cruising on the mighty Mekong RiverArrive My Tho boat station (where you meet the tour guide), boarding the motorboat at a pier and cruising on the mighty Mekong River. Here, overlooking floating houses where fishes are farmed beneath the house around 4 islands of the Dragon island, Thoi Son island (Unicorn island), Phoenix island, Turtle islet (viewing from the motorboat).

Coco candy producing processContinuing the journey on the river until reaching the local hidden Tan Thach village (which is less touristy than Thoi Son island tourism a lot), you will get to know many things about coconut uses (coconut candy, wine, oil, mat, coco shell), the tour guide will explain about coco candy producing process at the local coconut workshop as well – very kid-friendly. Enjoying free samples of local specialties and discovering daily activities of local people.

Horse cartTake a short walk to explore the village. Enjoy more Mekong countryside with the horse cart as a Landlord in the old days. Arrive another village - a performance site where Vietnamese traditional music (Đàn Ca Tài Tử - A folk art form from Southern Vietnam accredited by UNESCO in 2013 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity) can be heard and seasonal tropical fruits and honey tea can be tasted (included).

Hand rowing sampan (smalboat) in a small canalAfterward, being on a hand-rowing sampan (smalboat) in a small canal and slowly cruising through a small creek with beautiful overhanging coconut trees. Lives from both sides of the creek can be observed.

Lunch with an elephant ear fishAround noon, have an authentic set menu lunch with an elephant ear fish.

End the tourDisembark at My Tho boat station where the car driver (no tour guide) waits for you there and picks you up and transfers straight to HCMC city. Arrive HCMC around 4-5pm.

ハノイやホーチミンの喧騒から離れて、穏やかでのんびりした日帰りツアーでした。ガイドのHannahさんはとても親切で日本語も少し話してくれて安心しました。ヴィンチャン寺の建築がとても美しく、船に乗ってのメコン川クルーズも気持ち良かったです。ココナッツキャンディー作りの工程が見れて、試食も楽しかった！手漕ぎボートも静かで風景が最高でした。ランチの象耳魚は見た目も味も大満足。友達にもおすすめしたいツアーです。
Chris was amazing — so gentle in energy, but very informative. He explained the history of Vinh Trang pagoda so well that it became one of my favorite spots of the day. The boat trip was relaxing, especially seeing all the floating fish farms. I liked how this tour focuses on a quieter village (Tan Thach), so we didn’t feel like we were in a tourist crowd. The coconut candy workshop was fun and hands-on, and the horse cart ride felt like a step back in time. Loved the fruit tasting and music. A really complete and calming experience!
