Everything about this tour felt easy and natural. Chris and our driver picked us up from our hotel in HCMC, both super friendly. We arrived at Vinh Trang Pagoda just before the heat set in — it’s serene, with a nice mix of Buddhist and Vietnamese architecture.
The Mekong boat ride was breezy and relaxing. Chris explained about the floating fish farms and the symbolism of the four islands. He has a way of storytelling that makes even small details stick.
In Tan Thach village, it was fascinating to see coconut used in so many ways. My kids loved watching how the candy was made, and they each got a small piece as a treat. The horse cart was fun (they called it “Mekong Uber”), and the musical performance felt very local — not forced at all.
We all loved the sampan ride, especially because it was so quiet, just birds and paddles. Lunch was fresh and hearty, with crispy elephant ear fish and spring rolls.
We reached Can Tho in time to rest before dinner. A well-paced, family-friendly day — thanks to Chris!
