Itinerary
  • Pick-up
    08:00 AM, our driver and tour guide will welcome and pick you up at the hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Vinh Trang pagoda
    Visit Vinh Trang pagoda in My Tho which was built in 1849. It is the greatest pagoda of Tien Giang Province and was recognized as a national historical and cultural relic in 1984.
  • Cruising on the mighty Mekong River
    Arrive in My Tho, boarding the motorboat at a pier and cruising on the mighty Mekong River. Here, overlooking floating houses where fishes are farmed beneath the house around 4 islands of the Dragon island, Thoi Son island (Unicorn island), Phoenix island, Turtle islet (viewing from the motorboat).
  • Coco candy producing process
    Continuing the journey on the river until reaching the local hidden Tan Thach village (which is less touristy than Thoi Son island tourism a lot), you will get to know many things about coconut uses (coconut candy, wine, oil, mat, coco shell), the tour guide will explain about coco candy producing process at the local coconut workshop as well – very kid-friendly. Enjoying free samples of local specialties and discovering daily activities of local people.
  • Horse cart
    Take a short walk to explore the village. Enjoy more Mekong countryside with the horse cart as a Landlord in the old days. Arrive another village - a performance site where Vietnamese traditional music (Đàn Ca Tài Tử - A folk art form from Southern Vietnam accredited by UNESCO in 2013 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity) can be heard and seasonal tropical fruits and honey tea can be tasted (included).
  • Hand-rowing sampan (smalboat) in a small canal
    Afterward, being on a hand-rowing sampan (smalboat) in a small canal and slowly cruising through a small creek with beautiful overhanging coconut trees. Lives from both sides of the creek can be observed.
  • Lunch with an elephant ear fish
    Around noon, have an authentic set menu lunch with an elephant ear fish.
  • End the tour
    Disembark at My Tho boat station where the car waits for you there and picks you up and transfers straight to Can Tho city. Arrive Can Tho around 4-5pm.

    From Saigon to Can Tho, a Day of Wonders

    This tour had everything — history, culture, beauty, and a gentle rhythm that made the whole day feel effortless. Lam was warm, witty, and shared so many stories about life in the Delta. The visit to Vinh Trang Pagoda gave the day a spiritual beginning, and the rest flowed like the river itself. I loved seeing the floating houses and trying fresh coconut candy. The traditional music was powerful, and the canal boat ride was like something from a movie. And what a way to finish — a delicious lunch and a scenic ride to Can Tho. Worth every second

    The Heartbeat of the Mekong

    David brought a richness to this experience that made it unforgettable. He explained not only what we were seeing but why it mattered — from the spiritual depth of Vinh Trang Pagoda to the daily lives of people living along the Mekong. The contrast between the grandeur of the pagoda and the simplicity of the river communities was striking. Riding through the village by horse cart, listening to traditional music, sipping honey tea — it all felt so sincere. The lunch was amazing (that elephant ear fish — wow!) and the drive to Can Tho was comfortable with beautiful scenery. I’ll carry this day with me for a long time
