    Peaceful yet enriching journey

I didn’t expect to feel so calm and grounded after a full-day tour, but that’s what happened. We left Can Tho at 8 AM sharp and arrived in My Tho just before 11. The stop at Vinh Trang Pagoda was lovely—such intricate architecture, and David gave just enough context without overloading us.

Once we boarded the boat, the world slowed down. The floating houses, the islands—there was this easy pace to everything. David is one of those guides who reads the group really well: he knew when to share, when to let us soak it in.

I appreciated that we visited Tan Thach instead of the more touristic spots. The coconut workshop was interesting (and smelled amazing), and the sampan ride through the coconut-lined creek was just stunning.

Lunch was generous and fresh—I tried elephant ear fish for the first time and loved it. We made it back to Can Tho around 4:45 PM, just as the light started to soften. A full but totally smooth day.

An enriching day outside the tourist bubble

I travel a lot and often feel tours are a bit too “packaged”—but this one with Chris felt refreshing and real. The pickup from Can Tho went smoothly, and the visit to Vinh Trang Pagoda before meeting Chris already gave the day a cultural touch.

Chris was waiting at the pier in My Tho, full of good vibes and fascinating stories. I liked that we skipped the touristy Thoi Son island and went to Tan Thach instead—it felt much more local.

Seeing how coconut candy is made was cool (and tasty!), and the sampan ride through a shaded, narrow canal was incredibly peaceful.

The lunch with elephant ear fish and fresh herbs was a highlight too. Everything flowed naturally and we never felt rushed. For anyone staying in Can Tho, this day trip is a must-do if you want authenticity and calm.
