Great half-day escape from the city

My wife and I didn’t have time for a full Mekong day tour from Saigon, so this My Tho half-day trip was perfect. Hannah met us at our hotel, and we started the adventure right away. Cruising the Mekong was lovely — I liked seeing the contrast between the busy river and the calm canals later. The coconut candy process was genuinely interesting and very kid-friendly (I could imagine our nieces loving this). The sampan ride was serene and surprisingly cool even in the heat. And lunch? Amazing. That fried fish was plated like art and tasted just as good. Highly recommend if you’re short on time but want a rich local experience.

Local flavors, peaceful canals, and a sweet surprise

I loved how this tour gave a real taste of the Mekong without feeling like a tourist trap. Danh was gentle, informative, and made sure we always felt relaxed. The highlight for me was cruising the small canal on the hand-rowed sampan — so calm, so green, and absolutely peaceful. Visiting the coconut workshop in the quieter Tan Thach village was a treat — we tried fresh coconut candies, saw how they’re made, and even sipped a bit of coconut wine. The music performance felt sincere, not staged, and the honey tea was surprisingly refreshing. Ending the tour with that giant crispy elephant ear fish was the perfect finale!
