Lam was an incredible guide — knowledgeable, kind, and very funny. We drove from Chau Doc into Tra Su forest, where Lam arranged our boats and walked us through the day. The motorboat was a fun start, but the real beauty came when we transferred to the rowing boat. It was so peaceful. We floated through channels of green duckweed, surrounded by birds and tall cajeput trees. I felt like I was in a Miyazaki film. Lam explained the forest’s restoration from the 80s and how it’s become a haven for wildlife. Walking the bamboo bridge was such a unique experience — slightly wobbly but totally worth it. At the tower, the panoramic view blew me away. After a simple but delicious lunch in a forest café, we said goodbye to Lam and continued by car to Can Tho. If you love nature and authenticity, this tour is for you.
This was like stepping into a dream. Minh picked us up at 8 AM and was warm and welcoming from the moment we got in the car. The drive to Tra Su was filled with stories — about nature, the Khmer people, and life on the border. When we reached the forest, it felt like we were entering another world. The motorboat ride was quiet and calm, with stunning views of green cajeput trees mirrored in the still water. Then we transferred to the rowing sampan. That moment… gliding silently through the flooded forest, birds calling in the distance, sunbeams piercing the canopy — it felt sacred. Minh spotted egrets and storks for us, and we sat in awe. We later walked the bamboo bridge, which seemed to float above the forest floor. From the 25-meter tower, the view took my breath away — an endless sea of green and tiny birds in flight. This is the Vietnam I’ll remember forever.
