You will enter one of the floating houses through a porch. The locals will welcome you with the hospitality. They will open a flap in the ground and throw fish food from the bag standing next to it into the water under the house. Immediately a chaotic hustle and bustle start when the fish jump after the food. All the houses have nets underneath to breed fish, most of it Pangasius and Tilapia.

Waking up at 4 AM was more than worth it. David greeted us with enthusiasm and led us to the bustling Cai Rang Floating Market. The sight of vendors peddling their goods from boats amidst the soft glow of dawn was mesmerizing. Sampling local noodle soup on the river added an authentic touch to the experience. The subsequent visits to the rice noodle factory and tropical fruit garden deepened our appreciation for local craftsmanship and agriculture. This tour is a must for those seeking to immerse themselves in Vietnam’s vibrant river culture.
Day two took us to the enchanting Tra Su Cajuput Forest. Minh’s expert guidance led us through emerald-green waterways teeming with wildlife. The tranquility of the forest, combined with the gentle rowing of the sampan, created a meditative atmosphere. Reaching the observation tower, we were treated to panoramic views of the flooded forest and its avian inhabitants. The visit to the ancient Khmer pagoda added a spiritual dimension to the journey. This day was a testament to Vietnam’s rich natural and cultural tapestry.
