A Scooter Ride Through Time and Tranquility

David led our early morning scooter tour, and from the moment we left Chau Doc, I knew this would be special. The road curved through villages, fields, and lotus farms. The only sounds were birds, engines, and laughter. David was full of knowledge — explaining how rice is grown, harvested, and the challenges farmers face. At Hang Pagoda, I felt transported — tunnels, stone carvings, cool quiet air. It was like a secret temple. On Sam Mountain, we reached a viewpoint where I could see both Vietnam and Cambodia. David let me take my time. The wind, the colors, the stillness — this tour felt like a poem.

Sunset, Stories, and the Scent of Lotus

This tour was all about senses. Duy took me on his scooter down back roads I would never have found on my own. The smell of the countryside — rice straw, flowers, smoke — it stayed with me. We stopped at a golden rice field during harvest and Duy showed me the tools farmers use. Later, we explored the cave-like Hang Pagoda — a spiritual labyrinth of rock and prayer. But the sunset from Sam Mountain was what truly moved me. Duy brought me to this secret spot between two ancient rocks. As the light faded and the Mekong plains turned gold, I felt incredibly lucky. This is a must-do if you’re in Chau Doc.
