Can Tho Rice Noodle Factory & Villages
Nowadays, there are more and more green and responsible tours which are meaningful and educational as well. This is why Can Tho noodle factory is getting popular for both Vietnamese and foreigners to come and explore the cuisine culture and the typical local life in Can Tho, Mekong Delta.
What a unique way to explore the countryside! Riding on the back of David’s scooter was an adventure from the start. We took small rural paths through villages, where kids waved and farmers smiled at us as they worked in the rice fields. The views were surreal — vast rice paddies glowing in early morning light, flocks of ducks waddling by, and water buffalo relaxing in ponds. David stopped at a rice field and gave me a lesson in how the Mekong Delta farmers survive the changing seasons. Then, we visited Hang Pagoda, and I was blown away. It felt more like a secret shrine than a tourist spot — cool tunnels, cave altars, and peaceful monks. Finally, Sam Mountain. The ride up was steep and thrilling, but the view from the top — wow. Looking out over the border region, rice fields shimmering below — it was unforgettable. This is how I want to see Vietnam — close to the ground, real, and raw.
This was one of the most freeing mornings I’ve had in Vietnam. Minh picked me up right at 7 AM on his scooter, and we were off into the countryside. Leaving behind the city noise, we followed narrow village roads framed by endless green rice fields. Minh stopped at one of the farms to explain how rice is grown here — the whole process, from seed to harvest. It was fascinating and grounding. We passed lotus ponds, laughing children, and water buffalo grazing peacefully. The Hang Pagoda was mystical — built into the mountain, with cool, dark caves and sudden bursts of sunlight. Minh guided me through the maze-like interiors with such reverence. Then came the ride up Sam Mountain. It was breathtaking. The sun was rising behind the mist, and we stopped at a hidden viewpoint where two giant rocks framed the landscape perfectly. I just stood there in silence. Back by 10 AM, I was full of peace. Minh didn’t just show me Chau Doc — he showed me his home.
