Can Tho Rice Noodle Factory & Villages
Nowadays, there are more and more green and responsible tours which are meaningful and educational as well. This is why Can Tho noodle factory is getting popular for both Vietnamese and foreigners to come and explore the cuisine culture and the typical local life in Can Tho, Mekong Delta.
If you want to really feel the rhythm of rural Vietnam, this scooter trip is for you. Thomas picked me up at 3 PM sharp, and we cruised out of Chau Doc on tiny back roads only locals would know. No tour buses. No traffic. Just fields, farmhouses, and freedom. Thomas stopped at a gorgeous rice field glowing yellow in the late sun. He explained how the farmers alternate between rice and lotus depending on the season — fascinating stuff. Kids were playing near the road and waved as we passed. At the Hang Pagoda, I was blown away. I’ve seen a lot of temples, but none like this — it’s carved into the mountain, with hidden caves and sacred chambers that felt almost untouched. I explored deeper while Thomas told me the story of the monk who founded it in the 1800s. Then came the highlight: Sam Mountain. The air was cooler up there, and the view… absolutely surreal. From the magic double rocks, we watched the sunset spill over fields that stretched all the way to Cambodia. We just stood in silence for a while. This tour wasn’t about rushing or checking off boxes — it was about feeling the place. Thomas made it something truly special.
I honestly didn’t expect this tour to move me so deeply. Hannah picked me up right on time with her scooter and greeted me with the brightest smile. From the first few minutes, I knew this would be more than just sightseeing. We left the city behind and entered a dream of endless rice fields, lotus farms, and buffalo standing knee-deep in water. I felt like I was watching a painting in motion. Hannah stopped several times to explain the seasons of rice farming, how families depend on it, and even the superstitions surrounding harvest time. The visit to Hang Pagoda was unforgettable — stepping into the cave system, I felt goosebumps. Incense, flickering candles, and complete silence. Hannah showed me carvings and secret corners I never would’ve found on my own. Then we rode up Sam Mountain for sunset, and wow… We sat at the double rock, overlooking all of Chau Doc and beyond into Cambodia, the sun melting into the fields. It was just the two of us there, and I cried a little — not out of sadness, but because I was so touched. I felt so alive. Back in Chau Doc by evening, I hugged Hannah. I came as a traveler, but left as a friend.
