Then, get to the 25-meter observation tower to enjoy the fascinating view over the wetland forest and the stunning seasonal rice fields. (About one and a half hours in the forest, more or less, depend on your speed and sightseeing time). Take an amazing light trekking about 1,2km (or boat again, transfer back to the station if you do not want the easy trekking with the flat path) in nature. -

This tour was the perfect half-day escape into the wild and peaceful side of the Mekong Delta. Our guide, Minh, was an absolute star—knowledgeable, thoughtful, and incredibly passionate about the region’s natural and historical treasures.
The drive out to Lung Ngoc Hoang Forest was easy and comfortable, and once we arrived, it felt like stepping into another world. Drifting through the untouched wetland by boat, surrounded by lush greenery and total tranquility, was one of the most peaceful experiences I’ve had in Vietnam.
Climbing the observation tower was worth every step—the panoramic view of the wetlands and the seasonal rice fields was breathtaking. I opted for the short trek back through the forest, which was flat and easy, and a great way to take in more of the landscape at a slower pace.
Visiting the giant ficus microcarpa tree was a fascinating look into the Delta’s wartime history. Minh shared powerful stories about how this incredible tree was once a hidden site for guerrilla fighters, adding depth and meaning to what might otherwise seem like just a pretty place.
