The experience with Danh as our guide was nothing short of magical. He was so gentle and knowledgeable, guiding us through a series of stunning experiences while sharing stories of his own childhood growing up along the Mekong. The market was still sleepy when we arrived, but slowly came alive with the smell of soups, fruit being cut, and trade happening from boat to boat. At the fruit garden, we ate starfruit and lychees in the middle of a lush green paradise. The peaceful canal ride was almost spiritual—we saw a grandmother rowing her boat while singing softly. This was the Vietnam I came to see—humble, beautiful, and welcoming.
Hannah, our guide, brought incredible energy and joy to this experience. I loved how she interacted with locals—it was obvious she was respected and loved by them. She helped us understand the real meaning behind the floating market and gave context to what we were seeing. The family who ran the noodle workshop made us feel at home, and their handmade snack was a treat! I especially enjoyed the orchard visit—tasting rambutans and mangosteens straight from the tree was unforgettable. But what really made this tour stand out was the silent cruise through the narrow jungle canals. The scenes were like something out of a film. Quiet, contemplative, and completely real.
