I’m not usually a fan of early mornings, but I’d wake up at 3 AM every day if it meant reliving this tour. Lam, our guide, was exceptional—friendly, funny, and full of stories about the region’s culture. The floating market was bursting with color and life. I loved how Lam introduced us to the vendors and explained their daily routines and family histories. The tropical orchard was like stepping into paradise—papayas, dragon fruit, jackfruit—everything fresh and full of flavor. But what truly left an impression was cruising down the quiet back canals. It was peaceful, intimate, and raw. You could see life as it has been for generations. This is not your average tourist tour—it’s a heartfelt experience.
From the moment we were picked up in Ho Chi Minh City at 3:30 AM, I felt like this would be something special—and it was. Our guide, Duy, met us in Can Tho with a warm smile and an incredible amount of knowledge about the region. Watching the sunrise over the Cai Rang floating market was magical. It wasn’t just a sightseeing moment, but a glimpse into a living tradition. Duy explained how each boat displayed its goods on bamboo poles, and we even tried fresh pineapple cut right on a vendor’s boat. The visit to the rice noodle factory was fascinating—the family was so welcoming, and the noodle “pizza” was delicious. My favorite part was floating silently through the narrow canals, watching life unfold naturally around us. This day deeply moved me and gave me a new appreciation for the people of the Mekong Delta.
