When people ask me what to see in Mekong today. I tell them view our MekongDelta365.
Nowadays, there are more and more green and responsible tours which are meaningful and educational as well. This is why Can Tho noodle factory is getting popular for both Vietnamese and foreigners to come and explore the cuisine culture and the typical local life in Can Tho, Mekong Delta.
The first light touched the river like a slow whisper, and our little boat began to move. Guide Lâm sat at the front, smiling as he pointed out families already trading before sunrise. Steam rose from noodle pots, the smell of coffee drifted through the air, and I couldn’t believe people lived their mornings entirely on water. Lâm told stories of how children grow up learning to row before they walk — it made me smile. We shared breakfast with a vendor who insisted I try her homemade chili sauce — mamma mia, it was strong! Watching the sun climb higher over the Mekong felt like being part of a living painting. I left with my heart full and my clothes smelling faintly of river wind.
“Don’t blink,” Minh said as the sun began to sink — and he was right. The Mekong turned to gold before our eyes, a scene so serene it felt unreal. Kids were playing on the banks, families chatting from their boats, and everything slowed down as if time took a deep breath. Minh shared stories about the delta’s traditions, the floating homes, and the strength of river people. We tried longans and laughed with a vendor who called me “chị đẹp.” Muy dulce, indeed! By the end, I didn’t want the river to let us go.
