early morning pickup, calm river, pineapple on a boat, a guide (Minh) who knows his stuff and keeps it friendly — this was the start of a very refreshing day. the market felt alive but not hectic. fruit tasting in a garden was peaceful. then came the noodle workshop — never thought i’d be this into watching rice turn into noodles! also, noodle pizza is a thing now. cacao stop was a surprise win — so many things from that one plant. lunch was humble, hot, delicious. good vibes the whole day. go for it if you want to see life without the filter.
Started early but that’s the charm. Lâm was on time, warm and very knowledgeable. The boat ride to the market was relaxing, we saw the sunrise right over the river and I’ll never forget the sight. Cai Rang itself was buzzing — felt local, not touristy. After that, we cruised quietly toward a lush fruit garden. Lots of shade, birds, and fresh air. The noodle family were my favorite — seeing them work the rice into noodles was so cool, and the woman gave us noodle snacks with a smile. Then came the cacao farm, which honestly blew my mind. I never knew so much could be done with cacao. Bought some for home. Lunch was fresh and local — grilled fish, morning glory, and soup. Nothing fancy, just tasty and real.
