I loved how genuine and real everything felt. This wasn’t staged for tourists – this was the countryside as locals know it. Chris was laid back but super informative. The French-style house was elegant, and I’m glad he shared the Duras story. The cacao farm was shady and calm – I took a thousand pictures. Then came the giant ficus and the guerrilla tales – such unexpected depth! And food… oh the food… so crunchy, juicy, messy, perfect. Loved this motorbike adventure.
Riding through Can Tho with Hannah was not just sightseeing – it was immersive. She spoke about everything with such ease: the architecture at Binh Thuy, the trees on the cacao farm, even the war tactics around the ficus base. It was like a mini history course, but fun. My favorite was just chilling in the hammock with a coconut and chatting with locals. Then we wrapped up with those huge, crispy pancakes – I didn’t want to leave. A beautiful balance of education and relaxation.
