wasn’t sure what to expect, but turned out great. ride smooth, hannah very kind and careful. the house was old but beautiful. chocolate place was fun – never knew cacao could be that interesting. giant tree looked like from a fantasy film. food stop = amazing. duck + shrimp pancake = my favorite in vietnam now. no complaints. thanks hannah!!
What a vibrant and insightful day! Riding pillion through Can Tho’s backroads with Chris was as safe as it was thrilling. The Binh Thuy house was steeped in history – Chris shared stories not only about the French architecture but also about the novel and film it inspired. The cacao farm was my favorite; learning about the whole chocolate-making process from fruit to bar was unexpectedly fascinating. And the VC ficus tree stop… wow. I hadn’t expected to learn about the war in such a hidden, living setting. Wrapped it all up with that mind-blowing duck and shrimp pancake – crunchy, flavorful, and best enjoyed with a cold Saigon beer. I can’t recommend this countryside adventure enough.
