Binh Thuy ancient houseYou will visit Binh Thuy ancient house. The Binh Thuy French-style house, the privately owned house, was built in 1870 by the Duong family and still managed by the eighth generation. The house was famously used in the 1992 movie “L’Amant” (“The Lover”) based on the novel of the same name by French author Marguerite Duras, directed by Jean Jacques Annaud, telling the story of a young Marguerite Duras and her lover Huynh Thuy Le, set during Indochina times.

The organic cacao farmThe tour continues to visit and walk around the organic cacao farm where the guide will tell you interesting stories about local Mekong countryside life, culture, garden and fruits.

David took us on such a cool journey that I forgot we were only 15 minutes away from the city! The local ferry ride was a nice surprise, and the stories at the VC base under the giant tree made history feel alive. Also: duck pancake with a cold beer in a hidden food court? YES, PLEASE. 10/10 would recommend.
This tour checked every box: good food (those pancakes are legendary), real Mekong Delta culture, and a side of history you wouldn’t get on your own. Thomas was great at balancing information with fun. Loved the cacao farm — smelled like chocolate heaven. I didn’t want it to end. Can I go again?
