This tour is free drop off in Chau Doc at 4 PM or get back to Can Tho around 6 PM.

  • Check out and leave your luggage in the car/van. And be ready at 5am at the lobby of the Can Tho hotel

    05:00 AM, our car and tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer to the boat station for embarking the sampan – an authentic traditional small boat for the tour.
  • Can Tho floating market and the sunrise (sometimes) sampan ride
    Arrive at Cai Rang floating market – a must see in Can Tho, Mekong Delta. Your guide will explain and tell you why "early market" "why floating market here" and "why floating market is getting smaller after every 365 days" "why we should see it in real life, real smell before it disappears" and more. The experience includes the best noodle soup on the river tour. Even our guide will take care of your vegetarian breakfast as well.   • Can Tho rice noodle factory (not rice paper)
    Firstly, we do not want you to miss this place. They call it a factory but actually it is run by a family and a lot more authentic than you expect (no shops, no souvenirs).   • Depart for Tra Su forest tour
    07:30 AM, finish the morning floating market & the pretty small canals tour. The car will pick you up in the Can Tho’s countryside and keep going to the Tra Su forest.
  • Tra Su Melaleuca Forest
    Arrive at Tra Su Melaleuca Forest. You will have a motor boat in the forest, go and spot as many birds as you can with your now trained eyes and the directions of the guide. Pay attention to the sounds of the forest to grasp a better idea of this mesmerizing place, declared one of one of the area’s most peaceful spots in Southern Vietnam. After getting to the 25-meter observation tower to enjoy the fascinating view over the mountain in the area, the expanses of cajeput forest and the white dots of flying storks. Your tour will slow down by taking the hand-rowing sampan for a close-up birdwatching and enjoy the most beautiful flooded forest in Vietnam as well as SE-Asia. Take an amazing bamboo walking bridge in the forest in Vietnam which gives you much time to feel the beauty of nature.

    Of course, on this trip, you also can taste the sugar palm fruit juice at the sugar palm fields which may bring you some scenic pictures of the countryside views of Mekong region near the border of Vietnam in Chau Doc Tinh Bien.
  • An ancient Khmer pagoda
    Surrounded by the small minority Khmer village, The Khmer ancient pagoda, 300-hundred-year-old, has a very tranquil setting and is one of the oldest ancient Khmer-style pagodas in Mekong Delta. Walking around the pagoda, you will feel the relaxation, airy but no less ancient thanks to the pleasant complex of peaceful compound with elaborate stupas and ornate painting of spiritual scenes with the Buddha on the outside of the main building.
  • End the tour
    Around 03:00 PM, head back to Can Tho city. Arrive Can Tho around 6pm. Or free drop off in Chau Doc around 4pm.

    Real Vietnam in one day

    If you only have one day in the Mekong Delta, THIS is the one tour to book. Minh was our amazing guide who made every moment informative, but also relaxed and fun.

    Woke up super early and that was totally worth it — the floating market was raw, real, and slowly vanishing. Minh shared stories about why the market is shrinking and what life was like growing up near it. The noodle soup boat breakfast was authentic and heartwarming.

    The rice noodle “factory” was charming — it’s really just a family home, and watching them make those vibrant noodles by hand felt so personal. We even got to taste a crunchy noodle pizza.

    Tra Su Forest in the afternoon blew me away. Birds, peaceful green waterways, the lookout tower view… magical. The Khmer pagoda was a surprise gem — quiet, spiritual, and humbling.

    We ended our day with sugar palm juice by endless rice fields. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. Thank you Minh, you are a star 🌟

    Mekong’s Hidden Faces

    Chris showed us the layers of the Delta—quiet, sacred, vibrant, and raw.

    We began gently, with a Khmer pagoda hidden among trees. A monk blessed our journey, and I found myself oddly emotional. Then we drifted into a maze of green: canals so narrow the boat barely fit. Chris explained how these channels were once escape routes during war.

    Later, the market: floating stalls with melons, noodles, coffee. The vendors weren’t showy—they were just doing what they’ve always done. We tried sweetened porridge made with banana and coconut. Surprisingly delicious!

    The noodle factory was like stepping into a living museum. Firewood crackled, and the steam from the cooking trays rose into the sunbeams. We helped roll the noodles and shared stories.

    In Tra Su, we saw flocks of birds take off as we entered. Chris lowered his voice, and the world responded in kind. The air was thick with peace.

    By the time we returned, I felt like I’d lived another life.
