This tour was an absolute dream. I was a bit hesitant about the 4 AM pickup from Sa Dec, but trust me — watching the Mekong wake up with a cup of fresh pineapple in hand made it all worthwhile.
Chris met us with a smile at the Can Tho dock and immediately made everyone feel welcome. His storytelling brought the floating market to life. It’s not just a market — it’s a floating community, and seeing it unfold at dawn was something I’ll never forget.
From there, we glided through peaceful canals, stopping at a tropical fruit garden where we sampled mangosteen, star apple, and something called “milk fruit.” Everything was fresh and sweet.
The noodle house was a hidden gem — colorful rice noodles drying in the sun, and a proud family explaining their craft. Chris translated and made sure we understood every step. The fried noodle “pizza” with herbs was such a nice surprise!
I didn’t expect to love the cacao farm as much as I did — but between the beautiful setting, the quirky history of “Mr. Cacao,” and the delicious tastings, it became a highlight. Chocolate in the Mekong? Who knew?
Lunch was local, authentic, and delicious. This tour exceeded expectations in every way.
¡Gracias Duy!
