    Floating through a living culture

This tour was like peeling back the curtain on the Mekong Delta’s soul. Picked up very early in Sa Dec and met Hannah in Can Tho as the sun was rising. She was warm, knowledgeable, and clearly loved what she does.

The floating market was lively and full of character. We didn’t just see boats — we saw lives being lived, breakfast being made, kids helping parents. Hannah gave us background that made everything feel alive with meaning.

The fruit garden was a moment of serenity. Birds chirping, dew still on the leaves, and we got to taste everything from sapodilla to star apple.

The noodle house visit gave me a whole new appreciation for food craft. The colors were amazing — purple from butterfly pea flowers, yellow from turmeric — and the owners were so welcoming.

I especially loved the cacao farm. Hannah explained the entire bean-to-bar process with enthusiasm, and the cacao wine tasting was a surprise hit!

Lunch was fresh, flavorful, and served in a lovely rural spot. The drive back to Sa Dec gave me time to reflect on how special this experience was.

So glad I didn’t sleep in!

This might be the earliest tour I’ve ever done, but it’s also one of the most memorable. Got picked up in Sa Dec at 4:00 AM, and met Minh at the dock in Can Tho just before sunrise. He welcomed us like old friends.

The floating market was just waking up — such a raw, genuine experience. Minh told us all about the different types of goods, how families live and trade on boats, and even pointed out some clever local hacks I’d never have noticed.

The tropical fruit garden was peaceful, filled with birds and shade and the juiciest fruits. Then the noodle house — wow. Watching the rice batter being spread and dried was fascinating, and the homemade crispy noodle treat was delicious.

The cacao farm? I thought it’d be just a quick stop, but Minh made it fun and engaging. Cacao milk is now my new obsession, and the owner’s cacao wine had a nice zing to it!

The included lunch was just right — not fancy, but homey and full of flavor. Would 100% recommend this tour for anyone wanting a real, earthy Mekong experience.
