I’m not a morning person, but this tour changed my mind. Picked up right on time in Sa Dec at 4:00 AM, arrived in Can Tho still under stars, and then—boom!—the sunrise over the Mekong. Thomas greeted us at the dock with a big grin and local coffee, which helped!
The Cai Rang floating market was everything I’d hoped for—real, lively, full of character. Thomas explained the whole scene so clearly, and we even bought hot coffee and pineapple from vendors right on the river.
I loved walking in the tropical orchard after the boat—calm and full of fruit I’d never seen in my life.
The noodle factory was a surprise hit—the technique, the family’s hospitality, and of course, the noodle pizza!
Cacao farm was very cool. Thomas really knows his stuff and made the science behind chocolate fun to understand.
We ended with a beautiful local lunch, then the ride back to Sa Dec gave me time to reflect. Would I do it again? Absolutely.
Even though the alarm rang at 3:45 AM, I never once regretted it. The ride from Sa Dec was smooth, and I met David at the boat dock around 5:30 AM. The sky was turning golden, and the floating market came alive right before our eyes.
David is a great storyteller and explained everything—from how families live on boats to how the market survives in the age of supermarkets.
The fruit garden stop was peaceful and lush, and I enjoyed the quiet walk among trees.
But the highlight for me was the noodle workshop. It felt so authentic, and the family was incredibly welcoming. We saw how rice becomes noodles, then got to eat them as a snack.
The cacao farm was fascinating. I had no idea cacao could be used to make so many products. David explained it all with passion.
A generous lunch wrapped up the tour, and I slept like a baby on the drive back to Sa Dec. C’était top !
