    Floating dreams and noodle wonders

    This was my favorite experience in Vietnam so far! Starting from Sa Dec at 4:00 AM, I thought I would be too sleepy to enjoy anything, but the early morning mist, the quiet roads, and finally meeting Chris in Can Tho just set the perfect tone.

    Chris was a joy to tour with—he explained so much about the floating market, from the trading system to the way people live on boats. Watching the sunrise over the Mekong while eating fresh pineapple? Magical.

    We then cruised to a tropical fruit orchard. Chris pointed out plants and let us taste seasonal fruits. I’m obsessed with mangosteen now!

    The noodle-making stop was so fun. The family welcomed us like old friends, and watching the noodle sheets being made by hand was mesmerizing. I also had the best “noodle pizza” snack—crispy, light, and flavorful.

    At the cacao farm, Chris told us about Mr. Cacao’s dream and how his farm became famous. I loved the cacao milk (and maybe got a little tipsy on the wine!).

    Lunch was filling and delicious. This tour is a real treasure. Tak, Chris!

    Sunrise market and sweet cacao stories

    I wasn’t sure about waking up at 3:45 AM on vacation, but this tour made it all worth it. The driver was on time, the car was clean and quiet, and the ride from Sa Dec to Can Tho was peaceful.

    By 5:30 AM I was on a beautiful sampan with Danh, who was kind, calm, and super knowledgeable. Watching the sun rise over the floating market was unforgettable—the colors, the movement, the warmth of life on the river.

    Danh explained the history of Cai Rang market and pointed out things I would have missed on my own.

    I enjoyed the fruit garden visit (we tried mangosteen and longan), and the noodle house stop was fantastic—especially the noodle pizza, which I didn’t expect to like but totally did.

    The cacao farm was a sweet surprise! Tasting cacao milk and wine was fun, and Danh made the whole process easy to understand.

    Lunch was in a beautiful garden setting, and everything felt well thought out. A perfect way to experience the Mekong Delta’s quiet magic.
