What an amazing start to the day! My driver came right on time at 4 AM in Sa Dec. It was still dark, but by the time I arrived in Can Tho, the sky was slowly turning pink. Lâm was waiting at the boat station with the warmest welcome.
We boarded a beautiful sampan and gently made our way to Cai Rang floating market. It was lively and colorful, with sellers calling out, boats bumping softly, and steam rising from noodle soups being served right on the river.
Lâm shared so many fascinating things about the river economy and river life. The fresh pineapple we had was the best I’ve ever tasted!
I also loved the tropical fruit garden—quiet, green, and full of trees I’d never seen before.
The noodle house was charming, and the owners were sweet and generous. Watching them work was like watching an art form.
At the cacao farm, Lâm told us about Mr. Cacao’s journey, and I really enjoyed the cacao wine tasting. The lunch was lovely and filling.

Ich habe die Tour von Sa Dec nach Can Tho gemacht und war total begeistert. Um 4:00 Uhr wurde ich pünktlich vom Fahrer abgeholt und um etwa 5:30 Uhr traf ich meinen Guide Duy am Bootsanleger. Seine Energie und Freundlichkeit machten den frühen Start schnell vergessen.
Der schwimmende Markt von Cai Rang war einfach faszinierend. Duy erklärte uns alles über die Handelsmethoden auf dem Wasser, die Geschichte des Marktes und wie sich das Leben dort verändert.
Im Obstgarten probierten wir viele leckere Früchte, und Duy wusste zu jeder Pflanze etwas Interessantes zu erzählen.
In der Nudelwerkstatt zeigte uns eine herzliche Familie, wie die bunten Reisnudeln hergestellt werden – ein echtes Highlight! Und die Nudel-Pizza war überraschend lecker.
Der Besuch auf der Kakaofarm war informativ und lecker – Kakao-Milch, -Wein, -Schokolade. Ich habe direkt ein paar Souvenirs gekauft.
Zum Abschluss gab es ein köstliches vietnamesisches Mittagessen. Danke Duy, für diesen unvergesslichen Tag!
