Can Tho rice noodle factory (not rice paper)Firstly, we do not want you to miss this place. They call it a factory but actually it is run by a family and a lot more authentic than you expect (no shops, no souvenirs). Secondly, the rice noodle is not rice paper. How and Why? Your guide will tell you! You’ll be impressed by the colorful rice noodles, and how fascinating the rice noodles are made by locals. The family will serve you the yummy rice noodle pizza made by the member of the family….

Can Tho secret canals, quiet, empty and with no touristsWhat a romantic trip! Leave the crowds and the market behind and enjoy an intimate peaceful sampan ride in the secret canals on the way back to the city. Watching the local children playing in the water, the locals preparing things for 10AM-breakfast. You may catch the silhouettes of a gentle woman quietly taking guests across the canals by a tiny boat and the more.

Can Tho Rice Noodle Factory & Villages
Nowadays, there are more and more green and responsible tours which are meaningful and educational as well. This is why Can Tho noodle factory is getting popular for both Vietnamese and foreigners to come and explore the cuisine culture and the typical local life in Can Tho, Mekong Delta.
Chris picked me up on time and we headed straight to the pier. The air was still cool and fresh, and as our sampan boat slid onto the river, the colors of dawn began to spread — gentle orange and pink hues over the water. The floating market was quieter than I expected, but more real and meaningful because of it.
Chris didn’t just give information — he told stories. About life on boats, about the people we passed, and why the market might vanish in the next generation. That made the experience deeply human.
The rice noodle house was a gem. I watched the woman stir and stretch the dough, and Chris explained every step with care. The crunchy noodle snack was an unexpected treat.
Later, drifting in the canals with no other tourists around… I felt lucky. It was just us, the trees, and some smiling locals starting their day. One of the most peaceful moments of my trip.
The Mekong Delta came alive in the softest way imaginable. David was punctual, polite, and very thoughtful throughout. He didn’t rush anything — every stop felt like a slow unfolding of the region’s daily rhythm.
I was moved by his explanation of the shrinking floating market. Instead of feeling sad, it made me appreciate that I was lucky to witness it while it still exists. The breakfast soup was comforting, and I appreciated how David asked about our dietary needs ahead of time.
At the rice noodle factory, I was amazed by the process. I had always assumed “rice paper” and “noodles” were the same — they’re not, and now I know why. The family who runs the place were so humble, and that spicy noodle cracker they gave us was honestly addicting.
The canals near the end… magical. Still water, shaded paths, dragonflies, and a few locals paddling to school or work. A soft, deep, and beautiful morning.
