When people ask me what to see in Mekong today. I tell them view our MekongDelta365.
Nowadays, there are more and more green and responsible tours which are meaningful and educational as well. This is why Can Tho noodle factory is getting popular for both Vietnamese and foreigners to come and explore the cuisine culture and the typical local life in Can Tho, Mekong Delta.
This tour was exactly what I hoped the Mekong Delta would feel like. We were picked up very early, but the timing was perfect because the river already had movement, light, and atmosphere when we arrived. Our guide Duy was excellent at explaining things in a natural way — not just facts, but the reasons behind what we were seeing. At Cai Rang Floating Market, we learned how traders sell from boats, why the market happens so early, and how modern roads and changing lifestyles are affecting this tradition.
Breakfast on the sampan was simple, warm, and unforgettable. Eating noodle soup on the river while boats passed around us was one of those travel moments that stays in your memory. The Vietnamese coffee was strong and sweet, and the fresh fruit tasting added a nice local touch. The visit to the fish and farmer market was also very interesting because it felt completely separate from tourism. People were buying, selling, shouting, laughing, and working exactly as they would on any normal morning.
The cycling section gave the tour a second life. After the busy river, we entered narrow village roads, peaceful canals, small countryside markets, and hidden paths. The ride was long enough to feel like an experience but not exhausting. I especially loved the local ferry crossing and the views of stilt houses beside the water.
For me, the best thing was that nothing felt staged. It was organized, but still real. If you only have half a day in Can Tho, this is a brilliant way to understand both the river culture and the countryside.
