Cycling Through the Heart of the Delta – A Genuine Slice of Mekong Life

This cycling tour was one of the most enjoyable and eye-opening things I’ve done in Vietnam. I went for the 15km route, and I’m so glad I did—it was the perfect mix of activity, nature, and culture. Our guide, Danh, was fantastic. He was energetic, full of great local stories, and always made sure we were comfortable and safe on the ride.

We started the bike ride through quiet villages and tropical orchards, waving to smiling locals and kids playing along the roads. The ride was easy and scenic, with lots of short stops to explore or take photos. I never felt rushed.

The organic cacao farm was a highlight—Mr. Cacao’s story is as rich as the cacao milk we got to taste! It was fascinating to see how chocolate and even cosmetics are made right there by hand, with such passion for quality and tradition.

We also visited a local fruit garden, where we walked around, tasted fresh tropical fruits, and learned about the plants and farming life. Danh explained how deeply connected the people are to the land—it made the experience really personal.

The views over the seasonal rice fields were stunning and gave me a much deeper appreciation for the daily life of farmers in the Mekong Delta. It’s a very different experience compared to typical sightseeing—calmer, more immersive, and very real.

If you want to feel like a traveler, not a tourist, and see how people live beyond the usual spots, this is the tour for you. Peaceful, fun, and truly memorable.

An amazing bike tour in Mekong with Hieu

We did several bike tours in asia. Comparing to other bicycle tours this one, i would highly recommend. The modern mountain bikes are very comfortable and the road was good. We used 2 chair seats for our children (length 105 cm) and it suited well and safe.
The tour itself was really nice. There was a lot to see in the nature, farms and water. Nice variation.
The tourguide, Hieu, speaks really good English and he did a great tour.
If you want to see good suroundings of the area, choose this nice tour!!
