    More than a boat ride

This tour was full of surprises. I thought it would be just a relaxing boat trip, but there was much more.
David was our guide, and he was fantastic—his English was perfect, and he explained cultural things in a way that was easy to connect with.
I enjoyed the visit to the coconut workshop more than I expected, especially seeing how things are handmade.
Floating market was small, but it gave us a window into a vanishing tradition.
The rowing boat ride was short but unforgettable—so peaceful among water coconut trees.
Lunch was generous and tasty, and the garden setting made it special.
The brick kiln in Vinh Long was like a scene from another era. Very atmospheric.
Highly recommended if you want more than just photos—this is about understanding the region and its people.

A quiet escape from city life

Living in Saigon for work, I was craving a day away from noise and chaos. This trip delivered perfectly.
The driver picked me up right on time, and by 10am I was with Chris in Cai Be, already feeling calmer.
Chris had a great way of explaining things—humorous but informative. We learned how coconut candy is made and sampled pop rice and even rice wine (I politely declined the snake one!).
The floating market was small, but seeing the few boats still hanging on felt touching.
But the best moment was on the small sampan ride through quiet canals—no engine, just the sounds of water and birds.
Lunch on the island was excellent—fresh spring rolls and the elephant ear fish were perfectly done.
I also really liked the pottery kilns in Vinh Long. Raw, honest craftsmanship.
Back to Saigon just before sunset, feeling like I’d been gone longer than a day. A perfect reset.
