It was meant to be just a light day out, but it turned into one of the most interesting parts of our Vietnam trip.
Duy, our guide in Cai Be, was young, knowledgeable, and very thoughtful. He shared details I wouldn’t have noticed otherwise.
The workshop visit was genuinely fun—we saw how coconut candy is made and got to try so many things. Pop rice was a hit with my kids!
Floating market? Tiny now, but still lovely to see the boats and life on the river.
The rowing boat section through the narrow canal was… honestly, quite magical. Duy let us enjoy the silence.
Lunch was delicious—we didn’t expect it to be so well set up in the middle of a garden.
And those massive red-brick kilns in Vinh Long were impressive. A nice surprise to end the day.
Back in Saigon by sunset, feeling full and calm. Wouldn’t change a thing.
This tour offered the right balance of culture, food, nature, and easy logistics.
The pickup was punctual and comfortable. In Cai Be, we met our excellent guide Hannah who was full of insight and kindness.
She showed us around the local candy and rice puffing workshop, letting us try things along the way. Snake wine was a fun surprise!
Cai Be’s floating market isn’t what it used to be, but the scenery is still beautiful and the river life is real.
The highlight was definitely the rowing sampan—just me, the trees, and the slow rhythm of the water.
Lunch was healthy and flavorful. The elephant ear fish was beautifully prepared and the garden was shady and green.
The pottery kilns in Vinh Long were a bonus. It’s a rare thing to see such traditional work still alive.
Back in Saigon before dark, and I felt like I’d really seen something—not just taken photos.
