    A river journey with heart

We were traveling as a couple and wanted something cultural, relaxed, and real — this tour delivered! Chris was wonderful from the first moment — friendly, relaxed, and super attentive to our interests.

After a peaceful pickup from Can Tho, we went straight to the boat. The first part in Vinh Long visiting the pottery kilns was more interesting than we expected — very visual and authentic. Then, we crossed to the islet where lunch was served. It was truly local: simple, fresh, and tasty.

What really stole my heart was the rowing sampan. The silence, the lush plants around us — it was magical. Chris shared stories of the delta life in a very genuine way. We tried coconut candy and pop rice, laughed a lot, and then caught our car back to Saigon just before sunset. A perfect end to a perfect day.

A gentle journey through life on the Mekong

We started early from our hotel in Can Tho, and by 9:30 AM we were already boarding the boat with our guide, Thomas. From the very start, he made us feel at ease — polite, very knowledgeable, and kind.

Cruising along the Mekong felt like entering a slower world. We visited the brick kilns first in Vinh Long, which were quiet but fascinating — Thomas explained their operation in detail. The garden lunch on the islet was a lovely break under the trees, and the elephant ear fish was beautifully presented. The rowing sampan through narrow canals was serene, and seeing coconut candy being made (and eaten!) was surprisingly fun.

Thomas kept the pace relaxed but engaging. By the time we said goodbye in Cai Be and got into the car back to HCMC, we felt like we’d experienced a truly special part of Vietnam.
