A wonderful journey from Saigon to Can Tho

This was such a smooth and meaningful way to travel between Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho. The early morning car pickup was right on time, and although there was no guide during the drive, everything was clear and comfortable.
We met Minh at Cai Be pier, and from that moment, the tour felt special. He was warm and very knowledgeable. Cruising past the wooden houses along the river was like stepping into a postcard.
I loved the workshop visit—we tried coconut candy right after it was made, saw how pop rice was prepared, and even sipped some rice wine (I skipped the snake one though!).
The floating market only had a few boats left, which Minh explained is due to post-Covid changes. But the music performance and sampan ride through the canals made up for it—it was so peaceful and photogenic.
Lunch in the garden was delicious. The elephant ear fish was crispy and artfully served.
After that, we continued by boat to Vinh Long and visited the massive brick kilns. It was hot but fascinating! The driver picked us up right on time, and we reached Can Tho before sunset.
Highly recommend this route if you’re heading south—it’s so much better than just sitting in a car!

A Perfect Day Exploring the Heart of the Mekong Delta

Our day trip from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta was truly unforgettable. From the moment we were picked up, everything ran smoothly. When we reached Cai Be boat station, our guide Minh warmly welcomed us aboard. Minh’s knowledge about the local culture made the visit to the coconut candy workshop and pop rice production so engaging — even the kids were fascinated!

Although the Cai Be floating market is smaller now after Covid, Minh helped us appreciate the unique charm of the few remaining boats and shared stories about the vibrant market days past. The highlight was definitely the peaceful sampan ride through the narrow canals of Tan Phong Islet — a perfect photo opportunity and a glimpse into daily life on the river.

Lunch in the garden was delicious, with fresh elephant ear fish and a lovely ambiance. We then visited the traditional pottery kilns in Vinh Long, which was a great way to round off the cultural experience. Minh’s passion and friendly approach made the entire journey smooth and memorable.

Ending in Can Tho was convenient for us, and the driver ensured a comfortable trip. I highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting an authentic Mekong Delta experience.
