Honestly, I booked this as a quiet break between cities, but it turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of our entire Vietnam trip. Our guide, Thomas, met us in Cai Be and took us through a well-paced, relaxing tour of the area. The river scenes were like paintings – fruit boats, stilt houses, and smiling locals at every turn.
The homestay was a perfect touch. I loved helping prepare dinner with the host – their hospitality was beyond anything I’ve experienced in more commercial places. The night was quiet and magical, full of stars and the sounds of the river.
Waking up to a gentle breeze and a Mekong sunrise was something I’ll never forget. This tour might not be packed with major sights, but it’s packed with moments that matter.
