Can Tho Rice Noodle Factory & Villages
Nowadays, there are more and more green and responsible tours which are meaningful and educational as well. This is why Can Tho noodle factory is getting popular for both Vietnamese and foreigners to come and explore the cuisine culture and the typical local life in Can Tho, Mekong Delta.
Thomas was the perfect guide — calm, insightful, and very passionate about the Mekong. The tour started before dawn, and though it was early, I’m so glad I didn’t miss it. Watching life begin on the river, with small boats moving between larger ones, was like watching a different world come alive.
Breakfast on the boat was an experience in itself — I had a delicious spicy noodle soup while a vendor explained her morning routine (with Thomas translating, of course).
The noodle-making family was lovely — no pressure to buy, just warm hospitality. I loved the snack they gave us, and the peace of the Phong Dien canals afterward. I don’t think I’ve felt that relaxed in years.
If you’re debating whether to do this tour — do it. And ask for Duy! He’s funny, full of stories, and cares deeply about the Mekong culture. I was skeptical at first (5 AM is early on vacation…), but this was hands-down my favorite experience in Vietnam.
The floating market is authentic — not a staged show, not a tourist trap. We had the best breakfast noodles I’ve ever tasted, sitting on a boat while the river life flowed around us.
I loved the noodle factory — a small family home, colorful noodles everywhere, and Duy explained every step of the process with such clarity and respect. The little canals of Phong Dien were like a green dream. Quiet, lush, alive. Thank you, Duy, for making it unforgettable.
