A Magical Morning on the Mekong

From the moment we were picked up at 5:00 AM, this tour was nothing short of magical. Our guide, Lam, was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the Mekong Delta’s culture and history. The Cai Rang floating market was a once-in-a-lifetime experience – it’s hard to describe the feeling of floating among boats selling breakfast noodles, fruits, and coffee as the sun slowly rises over the river.

The noodle soup on the boat was the best I’ve ever had, and Lam made sure my vegetarian preferences were taken care of without any fuss. The rice noodle “factory” was a real highlight – not commercial or touristy, but a genuine look into local life, complete with vibrant colors and warm, welcoming people.

Gliding through the Phong Dien canals was so peaceful and surreal, surrounded by lush nature and calm waters. The fruit garden and village walk added such a charming, personal touch to the tour – we really felt like we were seeing everyday life in the Delta, not just the usual tourist stops.

Finally, the cacao farm was a sweet finish – delicious cacao milk and fascinating stories about the history of chocolate in Vietnam.

This tour didn’t feel rushed at all despite the early start, and I appreciated every thoughtful detail. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the real Mekong.

    Highly recommend

This was an incredible experience and one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide, Hieu, was exceptionally friendly and informative – he shared a lot about local life and culture in a very engaging way. Although this is a tourist tour, it genuinely felt authentic. We got to see how people actually live along the Mekong, from the floating markets to quiet village canals, and not once were we pressured to buy anything. The itinerary was packed but well-paced, and every stop felt meaningful. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to explore the real Mekong Delta.
