This tour was more than just sightseeing. It was emotional, educational, and unexpectedly intimate. Lam was warm, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. The small canals were hypnotic — still water, swaying palms, and reflections that looked like paintings. I didn’t want that part to end. The fruit garden was lush, and the woman who showed us around handed me the sweetest mango I’ve ever tasted. The bike ride was easy enough for beginners like me, and the lunch… I have no words. Lam made the Mekong feel alive — not just a place, but a character. I’ll be thinking about this day for a long time.
Danh was like a walking encyclopedia with a sense of humor. He explained everything — not just what we were seeing, but why it mattered. Seeing the floating market and learning how river trade shaped this region over centuries was fascinating. The noodle house was humble and beautiful — a family who’s been doing this for generations. I took a hundred photos at the cacao farm, but nothing does it justice. And then we ended under that giant tree, hearing stories of guerrilla fighters hiding there — I left feeling humbled, connected, and grateful.
