From start to finish, the Ben Tre tour felt like being embraced by the Mekong. Duy, our guide, was amazing — friendly, caring, and passionate about every story he told. I loved the visit to the coconut house, especially watching how families turn coconuts into candy and crafts. The air smelled like sugar and sun. Then came the Xe Lôi ride — joyful chaos through small paths, kids shouting “hello!” everywhere. Lunch was a highlight: fresh fish, rice, and laughter shared across languages. The sampan ride through coconut canals was dreamlike — just silence, shade, and ripples in the water. I left Ben Tre feeling lighter, like I’d touched something true and simple that cities forget.
This tour reminded me why I love slow travel. Chris was an exceptional guide — knowledgeable but never rushed. We visited the traditional brick kiln, and I was in awe of how people still use such old techniques. The coconut workshop was lively, full of stories and smiles. I loved watching locals weave mats, their hands moving fast but gracefully. The Xe Lôi ride felt like a glimpse into another era — simple homes, fruit trees, and the sound of children laughing. Lunch was a humble meal yet unforgettable, served by a kind family under palm leaves. I even tried rowing a sampan — not very well, but it was fun! This wasn’t just sightseeing; it was an experience that quietly touches your heart.
