This Ben Tre adventure was easily the best part of our Vietnam trip. The coconut factory was super interesting, but the Xe Lôi ride through tiny backroads was what made the day truly special. Thomas was a fantastic guide — funny, insightful, and full of stories about the Mekong people. The boat rides, the village walk, and the local lunch all blended into a perfect mix of culture and calm. If you’re after a genuine, non-touristy experience, this one’s for you.
We joined the Ben Tre tour with Duy, and honestly, it exceeded all expectations. The small group made it feel so personal. I adored the little moments — sharing smiles with the women weaving mats, sipping coconut wine, and watching life flow slowly on the river. The hand-rowing sampan ride was my favorite; it felt poétique, like floating through a green dream. And the home-cooked lunch? C’est délicieux! Highly recommend for those who seek something authentic beyond Saigon.
