We were staying in Can Tho for a few days and decided to take this private day trip to Ben Tre. I’m so glad we did! Our guide Lâm was waiting at the pier when we arrived, and his warm, cheerful energy made the entire day fly by.
We started with a scenic boat cruise and visited a small brick factory. It was really interesting to see the traditional way of making bricks – it’s still very manual. Then we went to a coconut workshop, where we tasted candy and learned how locals use every part of the coconut.
Lunch was in a peaceful garden – everything was home-cooked and full of flavor. The Xe Lôi ride afterward gave us a great glimpse of daily life in the Mekong Delta. And the little sampan ride? So serene, just meandering through quiet canals with the wind in our hair.
