This tour was exactly what I was hoping for: nature, culture, and some of the best food I had during my Vietnam trip. The boat trip through the Mekong was the perfect introduction to Ben Tre – calm waters, floating plants, and fishermen doing their daily work.
Thomas explained everything in great detail – from the traditional way of making bricks to the importance of coconuts. The coconut candy workshop was fun and smelled delicious! I liked that we could interact with the locals, not just observe.
Riding the Xe Lôi through the villages gave me a great sense of how people live here – so green and quiet. Lunch was generous and absolutely delicious – especially the fried fish and the caramelized pork. And the rowing boat ride was the perfect ending. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
What I loved most about this tour was how hands-on and interactive it felt. Hannah was super lovely – she explained things clearly, kept the mood light, and made sure everyone felt included. We got to taste, touch, and experience every part of the journey.
The coconut workshop was full of surprises – so many products from a single tree! Hannah even had us try wrapping our own coconut candy (mine didn’t look great, but it tasted amazing). The mat weaving village was peaceful, and watching the women work was humbling.
Lunch was perfect – elephant ear fish, fresh spring rolls, vegetables from the garden. We ate slowly in a quiet garden, shaded by trees. The sampan ride was like gliding through a movie scene – peaceful, green, and magical. I’ll remember this day for a long time.
